Middle Ground, Inc. has organized its inaugural Marriage Seminar and Family Planning Event for L.G.B.T. families. With this event, Middle Ground aims to provide information about family law, family planning and building, and the tax and legal implications of same-sex marriage in Indiana. In addition, they will have information on mental health and faith-based resources for LGBT families. This event will raise local awareness of LGBT family issues and provide families with valuable resources for achieving family equality in Indiana. Among the resources available will be help for same-sex couples who plan to marry in other states and need their applications notarized or have questions about their applications. Community professionals will be available to assist families. Among these professionals include Barbara J. Baird, Attorney at Law, and representatives from Hoosiers Unite for Marriage, Freedom to Marry and Black Equality Indiana. As well as being a valuable source of information for families, the 1st annual event will also be a fun-filled day in the park. There will be free food, music and volleyball in the park. Middle Ground hopes that their inaugural event will create a network of Hoosiers who support the LGBT movement that will continue to communicate and work together on the path to marriage and family equality in Indiana.
