2010 NUVO Cultural Vision Award Honoree: My Old Kentucky Blog

Craig “Dodge” Lile may have grown up near Louisville, but his My Old Kentucky Blog, launched in 2005 as a modest web-based journal, has always been an Indianapolis-based effort. The blog, which focuses on the amorphous, cutting-edge genre of indie rock, is the germ of what has become a small empire. Lile and his cohorts are now responsible for a weekly satellite radio show (on Sirius/XM), the online live-in-studio video series Laundromatinee and a nascent record label, Roaring Colonel Records. As a concert promoter, Lile has featured touring bands, which would have otherwise left Indianapolis off their itinerary, as well as local performers, particularly through the community-building Local Music Git Down showcase.
