It's somewhere between a sick, co-dependent marriage and a beautiful, co-dependent friendship: No matter how many shows the IndyFringe Festival throws at us, we try to see them all, in one weekend. You're all smart, sophisticated theater-goers, so we don't have to tell you that these are essentially provisional reviews - some shows will transform over time, others are partly or mostly improvised. And even the time of day when we saw a show can make a difference: It can be hard to work blue or creep your audience out at 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday. All that said, here's our take on this year's IndyFringe Festival crop. You've got until August 25 to see what you can. Head to indyfringe.org for times and tickets. Star totals are, as always, out of five.
Aug. 23, 1:30 a.m.: One car accident (just a broken collarbone; our reviewer will live to see another show), a few righteous upbraidings (for if we review your work, it is only fair that you critically assess ours) and two super-secret review missions later (Rita Kohn and Grant Catton earn badges of honor for knocking out nine reviews each), and we can call this Fringe review package truly comprehensive. No show left behind! Happy Fringing.
