Alexandra Horowitz “Discovering What the Dog Knows”

Event is in the Atherton Union, Reilly Room. Horowitz, an associate professor of psychology at Columbia University, will discuss her research at the Horowitz Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard College, including dog olfaction (sense of smell), interspecies play behavior, and attributions of secondary emotions to dogs. She is the author of Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know and On Looking: Eleven Walks with Expert Eyes, and the editor of Domestic Dog Cognition and Behavior. She earned her doctorate in Cognitive Science at the University of California at San Diego.
