You're in good company recognizing St. Elmo for its many years of excellence and experience, masterfully cooked meats and gracefully shaken cocktails. The steakhouse was recognized last year by the James Beard Foundation - pretty much the foremost national award-granting organization in the food and beverage world - in its America's Classics category, given to "restaurants with timeless appeal that are beloved for quality food that reflects the character of their community." The award is granted to restaurants that are locally owned and have been in existence for more than 10 years (St. Elmo was founded in 1902).
