Best of the Fest

When: March 20-21 2015

Heartland is partnering this weekend with Franklin’s Artcraft Theatre to bring some hits from last fall’s festival to far-Southside audiences. Frank vs. God (March 20, 7:30 p.m.), a comedy exploring what it means to have your life upended by an “act of God,” opens the series, followed by three films on March 21: Dukale’s Dream (2:30 p.m.), about Hugh Jackman’s friendship with an Ethiopian coffee farmer whom he met while traveling as an ambassador for a Christian aid agency; American Real: The Forrest Lucas Story (5 p.m.), which finds the guy behind Lucas Oil revisiting his painful childhood; and East Side Sushi (7:30 p.m.), about a single mom who lands a job at a Japanese restaurant and dreams of becoming a sushi chef (but with a Mexican twist). Talent from American Real and the director and star of East Side Sushi are scheduled to attend.
