Classical Music, Hip-hop

Black Violin

When: Fri., June 27, 7:30 p.m. 2014

The classical and hip-hop mash-up duo Black Violin is nothing if not unique. The duo of classically trained violinists seamlessly blend two seemingly radically different genres into their "Brandenburg meets beat-box” style. With performances at President Obama's Inaugural Ball, South by Southwest and Bonaroo, Black Violin is on the rise. The duo is breathing new life into the sometimes crusty classical music scene with some tasty hip-hop beats. Black Violin will play a free concert in the Columbus, Ind. Arts District on June 27. There will also be other artsy things happening in Columbus that day, including the dedication of new public art at 6:30 p.m.

Price: FREE.
