When: Fri., May 11, 5-9 p.m. 2012
The Broad Ripple Village Association will host its annual Broad Ripple Spring Gallery Tour on Friday, May 11, from 5-9 pm. Once again, BRVA will partner with VSA Indiana (VSAI) and sell ceramics specially made for this event by their Urban Artisans vocational arts program. VSAI, a statewide nonprofit which provides accessible arts programs for people with disabilities, is recovering from drastic budget cuts, and funds from Broad Ripple Gallery Tour sales will help them continue their valuable work of offering arts experiences for people with disabilities. On May 11, eighteen participating Village galleries and boutiques will hold open house with exhibits of original art including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and other media by regionally and nationally known artists and artisans. In addition to the shops and galleries, the Indianapolis Art Center will participate with a special exhibition. A tour brochure with a map marking the destinations will be available in all participating galleries and shops and online at the BRVA website. Locations selling VSA ceramics will also be marked on the map. The event is free. Come, meet friends, enjoy the art and camaraderie, and support the arts and VSAI. After the tour be sure to visit one of the many fine Broad Ripple eateries for a snack or dinner.
