Beset by the Czar's army and laid low by exhaustion, The Decemberists have opted out of playing tonight's (Aug. 5) date at The Lawn at White River State Park. From the press release: "Last night, lead singer Colin Meloy strained his vocal chords and for a proper recovery, has been told he can not perform tonight." Refunds are available from point of purchase, of course. Meloy has said that the Decemberists will be going on hiatus following this tour, though he's been careful to note that the band is by no means breaking up.

And yeah, as Josh Baker mentions below, Decemberists opener The Head and The Heart is still playing Indianapolis, twice in fact. First up is their already-scheduled free in-store 3:30 p.m. this afternoon at Luna Music. And then they've added a full-band show for 8 p.m. tonight at Earth House. No openers, the band takes the stage at 9 p.m. and cover is $10.
