There’s no better time than the present to take action to protect the Earth. After all, this Friday is the 46th anniversary of Earth Day and we have a few local victories to celebrate too.
Tonight at Tomlinson Tap Room, join Indiana Beyond Coal and Indiana Recycling Coalition for their Indy Green Victory Party, celebrating two environmental wins that happened in February: IPL’s Harding Street power plant stopped burning coal and the City of Indianapolis put a halt to the one-bin recycling contract with Covanta.
Meanwhile, throughout Indiana, advocates and volunteers are gearing up to spread sustainability statewide. Like this evening’s Muncie Beyond Coal Campaign team meeting (contact email@example.com). Or the Indiana State University Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday. Or the Indiana Lead Forum addressing lead threats in our water and soil.
Opportunities for fun, learning and activism carry on into the weekend and weeks to come. Stay tuned for my best attempt to give you the line up!
