Engage your senses this weekend at DigIN's Indulge, Imbibe, Imagine.

The event combines food, drink and art this Sunday, June 26.


A few weeks ago I was standing in the Ivy Tech Culinary School's on-premise garden with Chef Thom England, the program director at the school; Thom is also the interim executive director for DigIN. We were chatting about food, from growing it and the importance of sustainability and local, to our favorite meals around town when we got on the topic of DigIN's incredibly popular event A Taste of Indiana.
Thom was quick to let me know how much that event meant to him, but that his favorite of all of the events DigIN does during the year is I3 or: Indulge, Imbibe, Imagine. The event takes place this Sunday, June 26 at the Madame Walker Theatre and I can understand his affinity for the event. It combines three creative worlds and the city of Indianapolis in an amazing afternoon.

Here is a description of the event: 

I3 brings together 15 teams representing 15 unique landmarks along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Each team is comprised of a chef, a bartender, and an artist, preparing unique food, drinks made from Starlight Distillery Spirits and Wilkes & Wilson Elixirs, and works of art inspired by their landmark.

This year teams will create sights and tastes based on The Indianapolis Central Library, The Scottish Rite Cathedral, the Victory Field, The City Market and many more landmarks. The audience will be able to enjoy the inspired food, art and drink. 

The artists have started creating each of their unique works of art, so when you attend i3, you will be able to see a great deal of each masterpiece on its way.

At Dig IN’s A Taste of Indiana festival held on the last Sunday in August, artists will be displaying and selling their artwork cultivated at i3.

The event will portray chefs like: Craig Baker, Abbi Merriss, Ian Phillips and Dean Sample; bartenders including: Jason Foust, Mike Madison, Staci Wells and William Mohring; and artists: Susan Cox, Taylor Jordan, Quincy Owens, and many, many more insanely talented locals.
