Set in 1957 a former Negro League baseball player has to abandon his dream of a Major League career to provide for his family. The scene covers a time of old prejudices and a rapidly chaining civil rights structure in the society around him. Fences is a powerful drama filled with passionate love and thundering rage, generous laughter and searing pain.
