The first Founders Day Dinner was held October 11, 1982, on the occasion of the Museum’s opening centennial celebration. The evening became a much anticipated annual affair for many years. The celebration marked another new tradition at the IMA — the Second Century Society. This prestigious organization was established with the purpose of leading the IMA into its second century of existence and became a vital source of operating income for the museum.
To honor this rich history, the IMA is celebrating its with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while offering attendees the first opportunity to view the featured exhibition, Georgia O'Keeffe and the Southwestern Still Life. A multi-course dinner and honorary presentation will round out the evening.
