Do Not Kill Me, Killer Robots
The Great Ben Egerman Theater Adventure; Minneapolis
2.5 Stars

Ben Egerman's post-apocalyptic tale of a comical robot rampage started with an excitable pace that turned out to be unsustainable for his subject matter. His performance was energetic, but lacked focus; the funniest moments were harshly interrupted by non-tangential interludes of cheese. Egerman's homemade props and enthusiasm were fun; he has a great stage voice and a likable demeanor, but there were too many long stretches of nothingness amid otherwise sharp comedy. At the beginning he invited constant audience intervention, but seemed lost when it periodically arrived.

Phoenix Theatre: Saturday, Aug. 28, 3 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 29, 6 p.m.
