Heart of the River will host a Protest Paddle down the White River May 31.

The citizen coalition, opposed to the construction of a dam on the White River in Anderson, invites the public to join them on a canoe trip on the White River.

The 9-mile float down Anderson's historic section of the White River will protest a proposed dam that will destroy that section of the river. Participants will be given maps of historical and archaeological treasures along the way.

Protesters should meet ready to paddle at Daleville's Canoe Country between 9 and 10 a.m. Please call Canoe Country at 765-378-7358 to reserve your canoe. The cost is $28 per canoe and it is recommended to wear sturdy and appropriate shoes.
