Holcomb chooses Crouch for running mate

By Jackson Hughes and Dustin Beach

Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, Republican gubernatorial candidate, announced Friday he has selected State Auditor Suzanne Crouch to be his running mate for November’s election.

“I wanted someone who had an understanding of the whole state of Indiana, and a heart for the people who have made Indiana what we are today,” said Holcomb. “She has the correct experience, background, insights, intellect, she’s just the total package.”

Crouch, who has served as state auditor since 2014, is a native of Vanderburgh County. She had previously served as a state representative, as well as Vanderburgh County Commissioner and Vanderburgh County Auditor.

Crouch’s position as Auditor of State makes her the Chief Financial Officer for Indiana. Her office oversees the state budget and pays state employees and vendors. During her time in the Indiana House, Crouch served as vice-chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
