What better way to take advantage of a gorgeous summer night than at an outdoor movie at the Indianapolis Museum of Art? The IMA’s Annual Summer Nights Film Series returns to Friday nights this summer, starting June 3 and ending Aug. 26. The screenings take place in the amphitheater, or, in the case of inclement weather, at The Toby. Top Gun will be screened on July 29, bringing us back to Top Gun Naval Flying School. The film is about Maverick (played by Tom Cruise), a bull-headed and talented pilot that struggles to succeed at Top Gun. In his mission to become the best pilot, Maverick upsets his fellow students and falls for an instructor. Released 1986, directed by T. Scott. Runs 110 minutes. Rated PG. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., screening begins at 9 p.m.
