IMPD Aggravated Assault Detectives have placed 28-year-old Tristan Crayton B/M [black male] of Westfield, IN under arrest for his involvement in the shooting of four individuals earlier this morning in the Broad Ripple area.
According to the police report and subsequent information gathered during the course of the investigation, Crayton was in Broad Ripple at CT Peppers when one of his friends got into an argument with another male, victim Andrew Allen W/M [white male] of Carmel, IN.
All individuals are ejected from the bar. As Crayton is attempting to usher his friends into a vehicle, they were again accosted by Allen, victim Gabriel Daniels W/M of Filmore, IN, and victim Raymond Williams B/M of Indianapolis. Crayton's friend, from the earlier confrontation in the bar with Allen, was punched in the face.
Crayton, who possesses a lifetime permit to carry, fired his handgun striking Allen, Daniels and Williams. A fourth victim, Samuel Wade is struck by a stray bullet. Wade is an innocent by-stander, unfamiliar with any of the above referenced individuals.
An off-duty IMPD reserve officer working part-time employment in the area rapidly located three of the victims and Williams was located a short distance away by responding officers. Crayton approached one of the officers and was placed into custody. His handgun was also retrieved from a near-by vehicle.
Detectives placed Crayton under arrest for Battery with Injury as a B felony and Criminal Recklessness as a C felony.
