If you have ever been on the subway in New York City, you've no doubt seen, enjoyed, or brushed right by a musician who was trying to entertain while hoping a few dollars will be dropped into his open instrument case. But who are these musicians, where are they from, what are their goals, and can they really make a living on tips from commuters and tourists? "Busking the System" is an entertaining and compelling feature-length documentary that follows the ups & downs of three talented young singer/songwriter guitarists who try their hand as "buskers" - or street performers-underneath one of the biggest and most unforgiving cities in the world: New York City. The narrative chronicles how expectations collide with reality, as each musician follows an unpredictable path of successes and heartbreaks.
