This could be you! IndyFringe is looking for volunteers.
  • This could be you! IndyFringe is looking for volunteers.

Back bigger and better than last year, IndyFringe is here to impress at its 7th annual performance arts festival. This year, Fringe maximizes its number of performances from 280 to 336 in order to expand all it can offer to the public. Featuring a wide array of performance arts from theater to magic to musicians to comedians -- there is sure to be something to entertain everyone!

With an expansion in performances and performers, IndyFringe seeks as many volunteers as possible for the two preview events and the 10-day long festival. Volunteering is as simple as filling out a sign-up form and deciding which volunteer opportunities grab your attention and fit best with your schedule.

Unsure about volunteering? Orientation programs are available for all those interested in learning more about the opportunity. Program dates are July 30, July 31, August 8 and August 13. These programs focus on the history of Fringe, the requirements and the different volunteer positions. Accounting skills, supervisory skills, office skills and having a bartender license are a few of the factors determining volunteer positions.

Setting up for the festival kick off on August 5 is the beginning of opportunities for volunteers -- Visual Fringe Launch at Lightbox on Mass. Ave. at 9 p.m. Fundraising event Longest Dinner at Fringe Building on August 11 includes a 3-course meal and sneak-peaks of the festival.

Fringe officially starts August 18 running through the 29 with a multitude of performances each day at the seven different theaters located on Mass. Ave. Volunteers are needed for all times of the day, each day of the week. Tearing down and cleaning up at the end of the festival is Fringe's final need for volunteers.

Tickets run $10 for adults, $7 for students and $5 for children 12 years and younger. Show up 30 minutes before the viewing of each performance to purchase a ticket -- great thing is all proceeds go directly to performers each day, at each event.
