Wojciech Kilar is arguably one of Poland’s greatest composers and one of Music Director Krzysztof Urbanski’s personal favorites. As a seasoned film composer, Kilar’s music has been featured in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Truman Show and the Oscar award-winning film The Pianist.
Featured as background music to NFL football programming, TV commercials and movies alike, Carmina Burana is an inescapable and rare happening. Set to a series of 13th-century poems, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's performance of Carmina Burana abides by Orff’s artistic concept of “Total Theatre” in which movement, music and speech become one indistinguishable experience.
