ISO Teddy Bear Concert Series: The Giant’s Violin

When: Sat., Aug. 27, 11 a.m. 2016

Children of all ages and families are invited for encore performances of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's popular Teddy Bear Concert in Central Library's Clowes Auditorium. Stuffed friends are welcome! This program will feature a performance of "The Giant's Violin," an original story written by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra violinist Victoria Griswold. This program will introduce children to the string instruments of the orchestra through story, movement and live music. Children will engage in movement activities that will be integrated into the telling of the story. "The Giant's Violin" will feature five ISO string players performing excerpts from Camille Saint-Saëns classic "Carnival of the Animals" which will be narrated by Perry Accetturo of the ISO Learning Community. Following the performance, children will have the opportunity to try real instruments.
