After traveling to Spain for only one day to observe a bullfight, French composer Claude Debussy was so enlightened by the sun-drenched shores that he composed music inspired by the day's events and scenery. Told through the eyes of the French, Debussy’s “Iberia” examines an aristocratic festival in Spain. Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole explores the colorful orchestration of the Spanish musical heritage, handed down to him from his mother. Join the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and violinist Alina lbragimova as they pay tribute to this wonderful work.
