When: June 11-12 2010
When Holy Rosary Parish was founded in 1909, it was at the center of Indianapolis' Italian Catholic community. Since then, the neighborhood southeast of downtown has become considerably more diverse and the church has welcomed a wide variety of families. One constant for the parish has been its annual Italian Street Festival, where Italian meats, pastas, salads and desserts are all on offer, as well as live music, dancing and games. On Saturday, there’s an afternoon mass and, later in the day, an Italian religious procession takes place, followed by a second mass. www.italianheritage.org.
