Roots, Written + Spoken Word

Ken Waldman and the Secret Visitors

When: Fri., Nov. 8, 7 p.m. 2013

Ken Waldman, Alaska's Fiddling Poet, comes to Historic Farmland USA. There he'll be joined by a pair of Bowling Green OH multi-instrumentalists, Lucy Long (also director of The Center for Food and Culture, www.foodandculture.org), and Mitch DePew. It'll be an evening of old-time fiddle tunes, original poetry, Alaska-set storytelling, and certainly a few surprises (including a guest musician or two). Waldman has six poetry collections, a memoir, a children's book, and nine CDs. According to the Austin Chronicle, "Feels like a Ken Burns movie . . . Always recommended." The Denver Post says, "Renegade Americana." www.kenwaldman.com
