For the uninitiated: Joyful Noise Recordings' year-long series of flexi-disc (you know, those kinda-flimsy-but-cool "soundsheet" records that sometimes came inside magazines? and were super popular in the Soviet Union?) releases are almost gone. Info from a press release from the label below.

Yup. This is your last chance to sign up to receive new, unreleased recordings each month on limited edition 7" Flexi Discs.

The Flexi Disc Series is a platform for our favorite artists to release never-before-heard recordings on a fleeting analog format. These recordings will not be released digitally or on any other format. That is to say, the total existence of the song limited to just 1000 copies, on an increasingly-degrading analog format. These are unique and ephemeral tracks from some of the best bands in the world.

This year's roster includes exclusive tracks from:
Big Business, Born Ruffians, Daniel Johnston, DM Stith, Fang Island, Half Japanese, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Marnie Stern, Mount Eerie, Serengeti, Yip Deceiver... and this just in: OWLS! Yes, the Kinsella's have a new Owls record coming out, and they're contributing a sweet album outtake to the 2014 Flexi Series.
