Midtown Monopoly: Spend local

'Midtown Monopoly' is the center spread of the print version of NUVO Newsweekly for the week ending April 19, 2011. If you can't find a paper on a news stand near you, download a pdf version and print your own. And don't miss the cover story on Magnificent Midtown that accompanies the game!

Midtown Loves Local

For each dollar spent at an independent, locally owned Midtown business, about 80% goes back to the community, compared to 35% from a franchise or chain -- and these businesses are collectively the largest employer in Midtown. While the district is home to hundreds of locally-owned businesses, here are a few favorites chosen by Wayne Bertch for Midtown Monopoly.
