I had the the privilege of taking part in Dave Wilson's radio program yesterday on WIBC (93.1). NUVO was asked to join other media companies in discussing the state of the newspaper industry. In a week when the Tribune company filed for bankruptcy, the NY Times mortgaged their building, and the Indianapolis Star announced more layoffs, it was certainly a timely (and somewhat depressing) conversation. Guests included: Tom Cochrun, former WTHR 13 news anchor and former News Director at WISH-TV 8. Andy Donohue, Executive Editor of VoiceOfSanDiego.org Chuck Wells, Publisher of The Daily Journal in Johnson County. Steve Simpson, Managing News Editor of WIBC News. Kevin Finch, News Director at WISH-TV 8. and me. Here's the audio of my part of the conversation: http://media.wibc.com/av/audio/wilson/Laura_McPhee_12-11.mp3 You can hear the entire 3 hour program at WIBC's website: http://www.wibc.com/index.aspx For those interested in the topic, especially locally, the interview with Chuck Wells of the Daily Journal is particuarly good.
