NUVO Cycling: 2011 season starts big

NUVO Cycling wasted no time logging their first miles and wins of the 2011 season this past weekend

Members of the NUVO team who also ride for Marian University traveled to Columbia, Kentucky for LWC (Lindsey Wilson College) 75-mile collegiate road race on Saturday. Weston Luzadder soloed to victory in the Cat A race, while Joe (Joko) Kukolla rolled in for fourth. NUVO rider and Purdue student Drew Ott took fifth.

Sunday's LWC Criterium saw Joko lap the field, along with Marian teammate Jackie Simes, before taking second at the finish.

Read the great report on the LWC races from Collegiate Cycling News highlighting the Marian victories.

While the Marian guys were racing down in Kentucky, team road captian Jeff Schoretlin was training alone for the Hillsboro-Roubaix . The April 2 road race consists of three laps around a 29-mile loop through the hills of Southern Illinois. Jeff road it five times--145 miles!.

That's one long day in the saddle!
