Paintings by John Strickland: Chasing Ambiguity; Trying to Get It Wrong

John Strickland graduated from Wabash College as an English major and received an M.A. in writing from Goddard College. After college, he taught high school English and coached football in Indiana for 33 years.

During his lecture, Strickland will speak about painting as problem solving, and the very specific methods and techniques he is using, drawing heavily on comparisons with music and poetry.

The exhibit will open with a 7 p.m. lecture by Strickland on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in the Henderson Conference Room of the Johnson Center for Fine Arts.
