Tonight, IndyMojo.com will place the fate of their 2nd annual music festival, Mojostock, in the hands of their fans. Well, kind of.

Continuing their effort to cross-pollinate musical genres in the local music scene, IndyMojo.com will offer something new at Mojostock in 2010: an electronic dance music tent. With an overwhelming response from local DJ’s interested in spinning at the festival, Mojostock organizers were faced with the difficult decision of selecting talent from a sea of applicants to fill just 12 time slots over the duration of the day. True to their grass roots foundation, Indy Mojo has left the final time slot open and will allow fans to decide who will fill it.

Tonight in Broad Ripple, a $5 cover charge will put a ballot in your hand and grant you access to both levels of Tru Nightclub. The DJ contest will fill the downstairs lounge with activity from Hollow Point, Steady B., Jin-Xs vs. Gir, Kodama, Fate vs. Chachi, Parallel, Just 3 White Guys, and Gabby Love. Meanwhile, the main stage on the upper level will host local electro/hip hop artist Grey Granite, who is expected to perform from his February release Lust Poisons Pride.

The headliner, Cyberoptix, is a cutting edge dubstep producer from Memphis, making a triumphant return to Indy after his staggering set at the Bassnectar after party last month. Mechanically described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals", dubstep's universally appealing sound continues to cross genres in our various local scenes.
