Pet supply donations to honor Officer Bradway

The city is mourning the loss of Officer Rod Bradway, who was killed on duty responding to a domestic dispute. The suspect was also fatally shot; the woman, who was screaming for help when Bradway arrived, survived the incident. The IMPD said it "is humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support and prayers for our officers from the community."

A fund established to assist the family is open at the Professional Police Officers Credit Union, 1502 E. Washington St.

INDIANAPOLIS - In honor of fallen IMPD Officer Rod Bradway, a hero and ardent animal advocate, City Market is hosting a supplies drive to benefit Indianapolis Animal Care and Control on Wednesday, September 25 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Donations can be dropped off via a curbside service off of Alabama Street adjacent to City Market's East Plaza.

The following items are most needed at the shelter:

Food: Puppy and kitten formula, dry and canned puppy and kitten food, dog and cat food, dog treats, cat treats, rabbit and rodent food, horse and livestock feed, hay Pet Toys: Dog and cat toys, Kongs™, sterilized natural beef bones, Bully sticks Cleaning: Bleach, paper towels, Lime Away™, large trash bags, hoses, scrub brushes, brooms, buckets, spray bottles, rubber boots, rubber gloves, dish soap, laundry detergent, mops, scouring pads, plastic dust pans.



Animal Care:

Hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, pet clippers, grooming brushes, nail trimmers, digital thermometers, pet shampoo, flea control products, blankets/towels/sheets/other bedding, large fans, hand sanitizer, manure pitchfork, horse brush, hoof picks, horse and pony halters, fly spray, large trash barrels, pet carriers.
