Indy native Bryan Moore's series focuses on fictional assassins of the artist's imagination. Moore's work boasts an unusual realness when it comes to the figures he paints, due to Moore's love of physiology and anatomy, on huge canvases with a balanced attention to detail. Moore describes one of his works thusly: "Geisha Assassin features a woman robed in prismatic purple silk listening to the sound of koi swimming and an elephant trumpeting, when in reality she is hearing the death-throws of her decapitated body of her victim at her feet." For the Tarantino-loving art fan in all of us.
