Power of Children Awards

When: Fri., Nov. 1 2013

You will be amazed to learn about all of the significant contributions middle school and high school students are making to change the world in meaningful ways! Each year, the museum reaches out to youths across the country to discover who has made a significant impact on the lives of others, demonstrated selflessness, and exhibited a commitment to service and the betterment of society. Past honorees have helped victims of natural disasters, started anti-depression/suicide prevention groups, built wheelchairs for the needy and helped veterans find jobs. The award recipients receive: a $2,000 grant to continue his or her extraordinary work, a four-year post-secondary scholarship to a participating institution of higher learning, recognition in the museum's The Power of Children exhibit and a video interview about their service project.
