It was a night of beautiful people

Redemption brewer Dan Gohr swept past expected front runners to gain the crown, cape and scepter as Indiana’s reigning HopModel. Attired in vintage “Survivor” and wielding a signature brewers paddle, Gohr’s charisma overpowered other breweries with their laudable displays of chic, camp and artful creativity. Given carte blanche powers by the innovators of Indiana’s Next HopModel, it was anyone’s guess as to what might appear on the runway that was surrounded by VIP’s in seats and standees ringed around. Whipped into active participation by cohosts James Hinchcliffe and Ed Wenck, the enthusiastic audience started out with targeted brewery loyalties that gave way to Gohr’s overpowering persona.

It wasn’t exactly Lloyd’s of London high rolling betmaking, but many of Indiana’s craft beer festivals regulars expected a knockdown to the finish between the trio of breweries whose staffs always show up attired in the theme of the moment, but neither Flat 12, nor Black Acre, and not even Taxman could upstage Gohr in the final round. Bier made a close run with fetching displays of their “Taste my awesomeness” merchandise, and everyone else boldly sauntered up and down the raised platform displaying wares and winks, proving these folks can showcase selfhood beyond day after day serving us fine craft beer.

Experience the event on Nuvo's Slideshow — but most definitely schedule the last Saturday in April 2017 to show up for the 2nd edition of Indiana’s Next Hop Model to close out the 2nd Annual Indiana Craft Beer Week.
