The debate about healthcare reform fails to put a human face on what it means to not have access to healthcare. Remote Area Medical is a film about those people. In April 2012, Remote Area Medical, the pioneers of "no-cost" clinics, treated nearly 2,000 patients at a Tennessee NASCAR Speedway.
Hoosiers for a Commonsense Health Plan will be showing the film on Wednesday, October 8, at 6:30 pm, in the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium in downtown Bloomington. We'll meet the volunteer doctors and dentists, and the patients themselves, people who need and are desperately seeking medical care.
