Review: Knife Fight at Two Thirds Gallery

A spectacular grouping of solo and collaborative art from two of Herron's most exciting young printmakers, soon-to-be graduate Brock Forrer and recent graduate Adam Wollenberg.

Both artists have aggressive, distinctive styles that complement each other nicely. Forrer is known for his bold, enthralling images of shack-like structures and odd characters. Wollenberg's ongoing apprenticeship as a tattoo artist is evident in his work; he's always been fascinated with feathers and arrows, and they combine well with the knives, axes and bones that he introduces into his work with this exhibition.

The show has an overwhelming sense of doom and dread, but also an exuberance that renders it ambivalent on the whole.
