Virtuosi of Russian folk instruments perform in duos, ensembles and in an 80-piece Russian Festival orchestra in authentic costumes. The Festival Orchestra, under the baton of Svetlana Nikonova, unites performers from Russia, Europe and North America meeting in Bloomington for the 38th annual convention of the Balalaika and Domra Association of America (BDAA). The evening features solo performances by balalaika virtuoso Andrei Saveliev and domra virtuoso Angelina Galashenkova. Expect swirling skirts of a Gypsy ensemble and spirited Russian folk singing.
