The Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation hosted their 12th annual charity bowling event at Western Bowl in Indianapolis on July 25th. "Hats Off to Hope" welcomed six Riley Hospital families to help raise support and awareness for pediatric cancer. Four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon hosted the Dr. Seuss-themed event with twenty-two NASCAR celebrities and local and national personalities.
The Foundation will celebrate $3.5 million in gifts and pledges to Riley, vital resources for Riley Hospital and Indiana University School of Medicine researched seeking to impact treatments, therapies, and cures. The hospital's Cancer Center is a national leader in providing clinical care, conducting research for pediatric cancer and treating 85 percent of all Indiana children diagnosed with cancer.
The event included food, festivities, and bowling. Donations were collected through a silent auction of sports memorabilia, event sponsorships, and a live auction. Bowlers were entertained by a costumed ESB, Endless Summer Band and dancers. Local TV personality and sportscaster Dave Calabro emceed the evening, which netted over $24,000 of gifting to Riley Hospital.
