Slideshow: Giant Giant Robot says goodbye

Two local bands, Giant Giant Robot and You're A Liar, and two touring acts, The Nearly Deads (Nashville) and Take the Risk (Chicago), brought hellacious jams to Melody Inn Sunday night, bringing down the house. The show also marked the end of an era in Indianapolis' local music scene with the swan-song show of quartet Giant Giant Robot.

They paid their farewells by saying, "We're going to make this short so you can get on with your lives, etc." for crowd members who cheered exuberantly for them after their final few songs. When the crowd fervently requested "One more song!", they admitted with no shame whatsoever, "You see, that's why we're breaking up. Not only do we hate each other's fucking guts (Editor's note: They were only joking there), we don't have anymore songs."

Once again, punk 'til the end.
