The Indiana Hoosiers faced a must-win game on Wednesday. To keep their post season hopes alive, they had to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Senior Night in Bloomington.

Hoosier expectations were high following a win over ranked Ohio State.

Despite a second-straight without their big man Noah Vonlah, IU came in with renewed energy, lead by senior, Will Sheehey. Sheehey averaged 24.5 points over the last two games, being named Big Ten Player of the Week against OSU.

With an inside size deficit, IU went early and often to their perimeter game. However a poor first-half shooting effort of 37 percent from the field and just 1-9 three-pointers, lead to a slow start as Nebraska went ahead early.

Nebraska's Walter Pitchford notched 12 points in the first on 5-7 shooting, including a pair of threes. The Hoosiers did make a run to bring it back to within 8 at the break, 34-26.

After going down 46-35 early second half, IU came alive with an offensive flurry. A three from Sheehey knotted the game at 52-52 with 10:06 remaining.

Then the Hoosier offense went cold, seeming offensively unsettled and missing five consecutive shots for the lead. Empty possessions let the game slip out of reach.

Nebraska hit their free throws late, dropping IU with a final score, 70-60.
