Three annual summer events took place downtown last Saturday, all at the same time, all within close proximity, spilling over into one another and producing a continual wave of activity in the near north side. All of them were free.
The Circle City Pride Festival drew thousands, the Harrison Center’s Independent Music and Art Festival supplied a steady diet of....art and music, and the oldest of the three, the Talbot Street Art Fair kicked off its 60th year in operation.
Over 270 artists and artisans from across the midwest signed on this year for Talbot, displaying work that ranged from the traditional to the bizarre. As temperatures hovered around 90 degrees, some of the more successful booths may have been the ones selling bottled water and ice cream.
