A movement is building to raise awareness of the human rights issues undocumented people face on a daily basis.

The next action is set for Saturday, May 11, when people will gather for a vigil from 6-8 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, 311 N. New Jersey St. Organized under the theme "Hoosier Families are Stronger Together," organizers plan to use the event to ask U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., to support Senate Bill 744, an immigration reform bill currently under consideration by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Among the bill's many provisions is a path for citizenship for so-called "Dreamers," young people raised in the U.S. who identify as Americans but are unable to fully engage in society and live in fear of deportation.
