Heartfelt documentary about skydiver Carl Boenish, who fathered the BASE-jumping movement. BASE stands for buildings, antennas, spans and earth, all of which you must jump from to receive your BASE number. I used to skydive, but BASE jumping was too scary for me. When you BASE jump there are numerous reference points to show how fast you are descending. Yikes! Carl loved it, and his story is compelling, as is his wife Jean, who presents herself like a librarian. The soundtrack is a bit too hippie-ish and I wish the film had dug a bit deeper, but the documentary is well worth a look.
