After learning news that BISSELL-ABG-GIANT cycling team was at it again via BISSELL-ABG-GIANT director Declan Doyle, we also learned of recent updates about the squad (note that this team used to be NUVO's, who is now a presenting sponsor of the team). Here's the latest:

"The team has been on quite a tear the last three weekends. At the Joe Martin Stage Race in late-April the team sent a young squad to the extremely competitive Pro-1 National Calendar event. Graham Dewart, Alex Vanias, Nico Broechner, Dan Lam, Weston Luzadder and Alex Wieseler gained quite a bit of experience over their four days in Arkansas."

With the young squad facing fierce competition from the pro squads, the boys worked well together as a team to pull off an stupendous ninth place finish in that stage from Broechner. The following weekend, the boys were off to the races yet again in Urbana, Il.

"In Urbana, Kevin DePasse and Jon Jacob worked together to set Broechner up for this win, with DePasse fourth, Jacob rounding out the results for fifth place."

Continuing to climb, the team reached great accomplishments in the Dutchtown Classic. See the final results of the race here.

"A small squad of Wieseler, Jacob and Broechner, took on the professionals at the National Calendar our de Grove weekend. On Saturday, Broechner finished seventh as one of the top amateurs. On Sunday, after Wieseler won some mid-race primes, he and Jacob delivered Broechner to the line for a fine second place - losing only by an inch to current professional and former US Champion Brad Huff."

The team will continue to strive for success in upcoming races including some of the following: Winona Lake, Ind., NRC Glencoe Grand Prix, Chicago, NRC Nature Valley Grand Prix, Minn.

Keep up with the latest news and updates here. Also, check out how the team ranks in national standings, according to the National Criterium Calendar.
