What do you do when you fall deeply in love with two people at the same time? That is the question that begs for an answer in the new multi-disciplinary play, “The Girl In The Poem”, written and starring Indianapolis poet and playwright, Sonny Bates. On the surface it may seem to be the story of another love triangle. But digging deeper we find the love that binds these three characters is genuine and forms the foundation for a unique story. Inspired by a poem of the same name, Bates’ latest production blends poetry, music, video, dance and of course, drama. The Girl In The Poem is a thoughtful and romantic piece and its multi-disciplinary approach creates a compelling stage show.
