Thumbs up: Greening government
The DNR's upcoming series of open houses offers a refreshing change to the listless, neutral paint tones so often associated with government in action. From March through September, state experts will review everything from invasive species to forest resource management plans in the woody wonderland of Indiana's forests. Gatherings at nine state forests and two state recreation areas will offer the opportunity to develop deeper connections with Hoosier nature and the DNR Forestry Division. Topics from tree identification to tree harvesting, all under the majestic canopy of some of Indiana's richest resources — such a breath of fresh air.
