The film marks the first time Ultra HD 4K/3D film cameras have been allowed inside the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel where some of the world’s rarest and most precious works reside. A team of 40 professionals employed the same cutting-edge 3D cinematic techniques used by filmmakers in many of Hollywood’s most technologically advanced movies to capture this mega production. Audiences will be able to admire paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali, sculptures by Michelangelo as well as many other works.
In addition to the feature film, theatergoers will be treated to an exclusive 22 minutes of insightful “behind the scenes” extra features as The Vatican Museums’ Director, Professor Antonio Paolucci and the film’s director, Marco Pianigiani, recall both the challenges and the triumphs involved in the making of this masterpiece about masterpieces.
