The first full-length on the MOKB offshoot Roaring Colonel Records will be the second album, "Hail the Goer," by local electro-rock band We Are Hex. One can jump the Aug. 3 release date a bit by attending the July 24 release show at Radio Radio, where $8 will grant you admission and CD and $10 will get you in with a vinyl copy.

My March 2009 feature on the band still should do a decent job of bringing you up to speed, and this broad definition of their sound still basically applies: "The band channels dark energy to create all manner of noisy dance-pop, with sometimes more noise, sometimes more pop. Touchstones include Gang of Four, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Joy Division, as well as more recent New Wave revivalists like Le Tigre and The Faint."

Roaring Colonel has generously provided a couple preview tracks.
